Fawwaz Amsyar's Cukur Jambul

After a long hiatus of event planning (oh even planning gathering for reunions are not enuf to satisfy me!) finally got to do some d-i-y projects for my baby boy's Cukur Jambul event.

I chose for the theme colour to be BLUE, simply because mama had already bought a baby rocker for fawwaz (it was a surprise prezzie for us, she bought it while we were still at the hospital) that was blue and white, so we just went with that. And it was a very BIRU event.

Having a themed colour event is quite easy. U don't have to try that hard to make it happen. Its all in the details. My bestfriend pojan offered to design for me, so I asked her to make an A3 sized poster and lettering's for the backdrop garland. She made them & emailed to me so that I could print out and cut them (only sacrifice is of course have to be a bit more diligent & stay up the night before -_-)


We set up one arabian style tent infront of my parents house & of coz scallops & tablecloths were light blue :)

familiar centerpieces? yeah ulang idea masa wedding reception, just re-used stuff that was still in my d-i-y wedding box. As it was a small event, not many tables so I just printed out 5 pics of baby fawwaz and on the back printed out a larger version of the TQ tags (which I downloaded free online). Then I just edited & added on some text, wallah, customized :)

our event was on 12 May 2012, mama chose the date since fawwaz was already 42days & also my bro & hubby were flying from sabah. coincidently that date also marked the first year of the passing of my beloved grandmother, so on top of majlis kesyukuran, we also had a tahlil & yassin for my late grandparents. It started at 11am with mostly family members.

Mama specifically called male marhaban persons coz it was how her family always did it. Bacaan doa dari father-figures katanya. So hubby carried fawwaz and the guests & family members cut some of his hair off (memang aku xreti bercerita kan).

then it was family photo session in front of our d-i-y backdrop. mama & lil sis wna went to nagoya to buy the fabrics (i was in confinement remember) but of coz she had to send me dozens of mms's to get my approval hehe, they also went to Jalan TAR to buy the boxes for our door gifts, love them so much! balloons were a last minute buy that I grabbed from popular when we went out buying A3 boards & paper for the posters. My uncle sewed our fabrics together foc ;)

oh, didn't think I wanted to get an outside photgrapher since we were budget tight but after thinking about it so many (many many many!) times I thought 'but we'll never get this moment back again, first kenduri for our child, and I have so many diy stuff that took planning & time' . soooo googled up some photogs and found ummi's blog: theladiesphotographer.com , coz of our non-existant budget (merayu dgn hubby to squeeze it in) I took her shoot & burn package for 2 hours, just enuf time for the cukur jambul event.

ummi also took our photo's outdoor's which was cool (outdoors pun seblah laman rumah je hehe). dapat jugak family shots of the 3 of us.

come 12noon our guests started arriving for our makan2 & meet the baby session. We appointed our trusted caterer again (he provided for our nikah & malam berinai) and everything was delish! (pantang? err dah 42 hari dah mase tu haha). He also made the drinks blue (sampai skrg xsure the flavour, but we had fun guessing it! either mixed fruits, laici or air mata kucing?). My aunts & uncles sponsored curry puffs, popiahs & kuih apam (which i pleaded for her to make it in blue & white hee).

ramainyaa orang bergambar dengan fawwaz, he was such a good boy the whole day plus the night before, nangis nak mintak susu je, probably knew people were celebrating him. By this time my photographer was one of wna's best friends Nadia :)

these are some of the group photos!! me & wna decorated the baby rocker using vines of white flowers and tied them together using floral wire (from my diy box), we used the white carpet from my wedding and used props like my 2 teddy bears & floral balls. All recycled!

me & my little angel. i bought my baju a day before the event coz i had totally nothing in blue. So while mum babysitted fawwaz, me & hubby went hunting for baju & stuff for d event. I actually wanted to get a jubah or something that was not fitting but didn't have time to go looking & ended up buying baju kurung modern & was supposed to take out the darts on the back (so it wudnt hug my fat body so much) but in the end forgot coz was too bz wif deco & door gifts. hehe, honestly i looked like a log wif my tummy wrapped in my abdominal binder (xleh pakai bengkung). But all shots without my body were nice :)

these are the door gifts we gave out. the paper bags were for the marhaban'ers. inside were a mini sejadah & chocs. Inside the normal doorgifts were hand-knitted cases (from my aunt) that were filled wif chocs. The cupcakes were sponsored by my lil'bros girlfriend & her mum! baik gila kot! they were adorable choc cuppies wif fawwaz's name on them. She got them from Kupkek Amira.

Alhamdulillah it was a smooth event & our utmost prayers are that little fawwaz amsyar grows up to be a good muslim, happy, successful & healthy, anak yang soleh & cucu yang manja & penyayang :) Amin Ya Rabbal Alamin.

 these are what we gave out during our wedding for both KL & Sabah events.

NIKAH DOOR GIFTS

the stack of brown bags that my dayangs so cleverly susun early morning.(bags beli kat nilai 3, like the only stuff we bought at nilai, mama blanje) the nikah bags ada 100 units je, pasal anticipating only close family & friends yang akan attend ;) paling utama is of course the grooms side :)

dalam brown bags tu ada diisi 4 jenis barang iaitu:-

No. 1 - Bunga Pahar

 

jangan ingat xde drama disebalik aku nak jugak bunga pahar dari SSF ni :D gambar diatas diambil masa survey-survey dulu, way before time puasa, memang dah jatuh hati la dgn bunga ni, pasal macam bunga betul, xde mende2 yang merimaskan tu, so amekla gambar saje (time ni masih x cukup bajet nk beli ni lagi) and set dalam plan, nak beli time ada duit nanti.....

masa berlalu, tiba masa duit dah ada dalam tangan, pegi SSF jln tar tu, aaaahhh, MEMANG habis stock, warna putih je pulak tu, tanpa berputus asa made it a kewajiban utk pegi singgah SSF everytime ktorg pegi SSF (ok that was like almost every freaking week) hehe, STILL, xde stock..arghh..

masuk bulan pose, masih NO STOCK, mama dah start suh beli je bunga pahar warna putih yang lain, but hati aku yang keras ni berdegil mahu yang tu jugak..

jadi pada suatu jumaat lunch hour pada bulan puasa yang lepas, aku gamble pegi jln TAR tuk tngok kat SSF ada tak bunga pahar kegemaran aku tu..

naik LRT jalan laju2 ke jln TAR, sengsorang plak tuh, trus aku g naik lif SSF tingkat yang jual barang2 kawin tu (lift tu bukak boleh trus nampak section bunga pahar) and lo & behold tersergam indah kat mata aku bunga putih tu, trus aku lari (i sure as heck did lari ok) and tngok ada brapa kotak kat shelf tu (dorg mmg susun suma kat situ, xde nye dalam store)...cantik sgt, mmg tinggal DUA kotak je lagi (means 100 unit) trus aku hangkut dua kotak besar tu (besar & pjg k kotak dia) and letak atas counter nak bayar..

dalam hati aku macam terglak sikit (OMG mcm jahat nak mampus kan sedangkan aku puasa kot time tu, ya Allah ampunkan aku) heheh..hey aku dah tunggu lama kot bunga tu, kena la effort sket kan, hahahahah

setiap satunya aku & wna dah balut dgn riben (50 pink, 50 cream coloured)

idea asal, seperti ramai brides yang lain nak bagi Yassin, tapi mama cakap, cuba tngok rumah kte ni, dah byk Yassin tapi ada ke kte terbaca semua? adus, btul gak kata mama, jadi aku mengoogling idea lain & thus came upon Zaila's blog entry. (sila klik!)

actually ada jumpa jugak kedai kad kahwin yang buat the exact same books but since aku memang nak quantity yang sikit je, jadi aku beli thru Zaila je :) (yet another thing i bought over the net) heheh

and Alhamdulillah ramai yang suka & my cousin ada buat entry satu pasal do0r gift ni jugak ;) tq aimi syg!!

RECEPTION DOOR GIFT

VIP DOOR GIFTS

ain made the design to fit on A4 paper, so i printed them out, tinggal job gunting2 & lekatkan the sides together to become the cd envelope (which my bridesmaids/committee yg terpaksa bertungkus lumus buat, hehe)

ain dah set in this format so aku & syg pegi cari cd stickers (yang kosong tu), ada jual kat stationares & jusco jugak, senang tak yah nak gunting ke apa, lepas dah hantar printing (dekat kedai En. Limbo jugak) tinggal kopek and lekat kat atas cd jeh

kat blakang envelope tulis berjela panjang aku nye song list (mmg aku tak reti nak shortlistkan 80 lagu kan!) hahah, all my favourite love songs, ada english, melay, indon, korea..hahah, lagu kawin saloma pon ada!

 ini dayang2 ku yang incharge of burning my 80 songs into 200 nos. of cd (100 each), dengan tak cukup tidur dorg gigih siapkan sebelum hari nikah and after majlis onikah pun masih menghabiskan ...oh, and dorg bukan tinggal kat kl k, izzat tinggal kat perak, c-nah tinggal kat kuantan.. see with my bestest girlfrens pun aku LDR tau :D tq my sayangsssss

KIDS DOOR GIFT

coloured popcorn!!!

the drama (haruslah semua ada drama!): i started looking for my popcorn vendor at the pasar malams near my house, around before bulan puasa, jumpa makcik satu ni, dia sorg je jual popcorn kat pasar malam keramat permai tu. SOMBONG NAK MAMPUS! aku tanya soalan punyalah baik, i just asked, makcik jual tak banyak2? boleh tak nk paket kecik2 and tali rafia pengikat tu warna pink?

dia jawab mcm aku ni xde duit je nak beli popcorn dia, 'mana ada tali pengikat warna pink, satu hal pulak makcik nak pegi cari, semua kedai jual warna biru je', eh helllooooo..ko ingat aku bodo ke? tapi, aku sabar lagi...

aku teruskan soalan dgn suara berhabis sopan lagi, saya ingat nak tempah dalam 250 bungkus untuk majlis kawin.. 'bila ko nak kawin?' makcik tu tanye dgn sial (aku mmg tak tahan nk mencarut bila ingat balik).

majis kawin sy dlm bulan raya..'jangan ckp skrg, nak tempah dtg sini 4 hari sebelum majlis!'

ewaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh..memang ko sorg je jual popcorn kat kl ni kan? baaaaaaaa....btul

then after that aku stop dulu mencari, saket hati, lepas raya aku pegi usha plak, pasar malam au2 (depan jusco tiap hari sabtu tu), and guess whut, mmg makcik tu sorg je yg jual kt situ! ahhh macam haram.

so aku blakun, aku tanye soklan yg sama aku tanya dulu, dia mmg tak ingat aku, tp jawapan dia still cam sial, aku tanye, 'makcik tinggal kat mana ye if sy nak collect popcorn ni?' dia jawab: makcik ada kt sini tiap minggu! hek eleh, macam aku hadap sgt nak pegi stalker umh ko kan?

*ok panjang plak cter marah ni,hehe*

then last resort, dgn ditemani mama, ktorg pegi pasar malam hari jumaat, kat seblah stesen lrt jelatek tu, thus...terjumpala sang popcorn vendor yang aku tercari2 selama ini :)

happy teramat sgt pasal:

1) PR pakcik & makcik yang jual tu sungguh bagus + friendly sgt

2) dorg bagi cadangan lagi tuk mix coloured popcorn dgn yang xde colour

3) dorg tanye aku nye wedding theme warna apa & dorg sendri ckp nak cari tali rafia pink tanpa aku mintak!

4) harga pun aku rasa amat berpatutan (70 sen setiap bungkus), size dia separuh from size yg kte biasa beli kat pasar malam tu (tapi kan, if mahal lagi pun aku tak kesah psl pr dorg pun dh buat aku nk deal dgn dorg)

5) pakcik tu yang offer nak deliver sendri kat umah (foc)

OMGEE......REJEKI

ended up, dorg mmg hantar on time, rite after aku hbis salin2 baju, but then bungkusan dorg bukan half pon, macam besar gak bungkusan tu (so ktorg yang untung), thus makcik2 & cousin2 aku trus tertungkus lumus membukak setiap bungkusan & bahagikan half lagi, so instead of having 250 pakets we actually had 500 pakets!! heheheh

SABAH DOOR GIFTS

we made our own custom designed paper bags.

dalam setiap beg ni campur-campur, ada bunga telur or bunga pensel (imported from KL), kuih lidah (yang sedap gila aween curi satu plastic penuh bwk balik kl, hehe), kuih bahulu, gula-gula. semua nya diisi berdasarkan specificasi yang telah dibuat oleh en. faizal rashid (siap tampal arahan kat dinding lagi, mmg mcm construction site dah)

VIP DOOR GIFT

vip door gifts pulak ada 250 beg kesemuanye (ok original plan is for SEMUA tetamu dapat door gift ni, tapi disebabkan masalah teknikal yang syg dt tau masa ktorg otw balik from honeymoon haritu, maka kami beralih ke plan B)

cter ringkasnya, syg had already ordered & payed deposit for mugs printed with our logo, and last minute after constantly being asked by hubby, only then did the vendor (syg's ex-schoolmate) bgtau that dorg tak dapat nk fulfill order, haish, bagitau 3 weeks before event! memang stress syg aku time tu..

then after getting ack ALL our deposit, syg and his right-man karon spent time going all over kk, beli semua mug putih seberapa byk yang boleh hangkut :) thus we converted them into the vip door gifts..

vip's (termasuk my family) dapat cawan putih tertera logo

and ada skali kuih & bunga telur jugak

nampak macam printed kan? heheh, its actually stickers that we ordered from jalan pudu(around 25sen per sticker) and process tampal menampal started after i had arrived in papar (sebab aku yang pegi collect sticker tu, hehe)

waktu merenjis pulak, para perenjis dapat beg emas yang diisi dgn kain batik (utk perempuan) and kain sarong (utk lelaki), ini idea father-in-law sendiri :)
