now that i'm free from final exams and the restrictions of being a masters student, i am totally focusing 110% of my time to welcome a baby in our life. memang fail lah niat aku nak jadi blogger m2b kan dah terlepas 2-trimesters already and im nearing week 30 only to double-slap myself in the face and realize...

we're going to have a new person in our life soon!!!

oh my gosh, time has really flown by, what with all the hecticness of nite-classes, never-ending assignments and short breaks in between to go out or go back to kl, at the end of it, my belly is already bulging out (no i can't see my toes anymore, hehe) and we haven't even bought 5% of baby stuff yet! hadoiii. i feel so less organized compared to my wedding prep! around 2 1/2 months to go and yet i'm so unprepared. heeee. but, excited nonetheless :)

so now, it's the time to rewind my life, remind myself how i found out about our miracle, how he's been growing, make a checklist, jot down the budget and shop til i (or hubby) drops. FUN!!

being a preggers student was not that bad, but there were times that i had to adjust myself to make myself more comfortable, for instance:-

1) got back pains coz wrong posture and due to hours (and hours) of time dedicated to finishing those never ending assignments

2) couldn't study in my favorite position anymore (laying on my stomach) becoz of the obvious ;p

3) pulling an all-nighters to study and finish off work was really unhealthy for baby and me, but i still did it ;(

4) can't drink as much coffee as i'd like to, eventho most preggy women stay away from coffee all together, i read somewhere its just that we can't have more than 3 cups a day, so i did sneak some coffee in (through neslo and instant nescafe sticks). just had to have the boost to keep me up

5) when baby-kicks were getting stronger, i couldn't seem to sit still in class as well. heheh. oh especially when i was sitting 3 hours for exams, makin active dia time tu, sesak nafas and had to keep it slow (despite time limit)

but all in all, it has been smooth-sailing, i dont experience the nauseating/vomiting like other ppl, just the tiredness due to my lower blood pressure so im doing good :) well will post more frequently now. ending this first wif latest pictures of me and tummy

FaizalAzwin: 1st Year Anniversary {1.10.11}

almost 2 months after our anniversary i just had to post some pics of what we did for our first year anniversary.

our anniversary fell on a saturday and actually 1st October is a state holiday (Official birthday of Yang di-Pertua Sabah) so no worries about taking a day off in the future hehee.

well the night before (friday) , i had my accounts and finance class T_T, spoiler habis kan baru berangan nak pegi check-in hotel ke apa. after class (around 10.30pm) i was so tired and really sleepy, siap tidur dalam kreta lagi on the way back. sampai rumah i dragged my feet upstairs to our apartment and almost immediately fell on our leather couch. ahhh heaven! by then it was already around 11.30pm and oh don't forget the fact that i was 14 weeks pregnant so i fall asleep easily :D

then i wake up from my sleep and all the lights are off and hubby is waking me up saying 'sayaaaangg, happy first anniversary!!!' he was standing next to the couch holding a whole indulgence cake wiff candles....12midnite suprise..heee sweet sangat2 coz he bought a cake while i was at school :)

alot of cake for just the 2 of us rite? hehe, that weekend my bro was at home so adalah orang tukang makan jugak.

on saturday we didn't go out in the morning, just spent quality time at home coz after lunch i had a 3 hour statistics class. how fun!! :p memang x fun la, but after it was over hubby picked me up and we got ready to have dinner in the city. this time we decided to try out dinner at Hyatt hotel :) food was good, ambiance was romantic and there was live jazz music :)

eventhough we didn't do much but it was super-extra special coz our little miracle turned 14 weeks which meant we were at the end of the first trimester and happily entering our second trimester :) Alhamdulillah

kejap jerh, this week dah the third week of my master's classes ;p assignment dah due every week! macam tak leh keep track dah. waaaaarghhh. highlights of the past 2 weeks are:-

1) had a 2 day introduction course/talks in the first week (9am-5pm) and have classes start straightaway that nite (7pm-10pm) that was TIRING

2) classes had started right away, every nite from monday-friday (T_T) and saturday evening, 3 hrs per class. hence. i've become batwoman! only coming out at nite. oh i do feel that my skin is much more brighter than it used to be. hehe

3) assignments are poring in. apparently normal assignments require minimum 15-20 journals as references. erkk. fyi, reading educational material+aween=SLEEP

4) hubby has been going to the gym more regularly while waiting for my classes to be over. hehe. at least something good is coming out of this

5) got some new friends i made from my classes & still bangga-hidung-kembang when they are shocked to find out im married (dorg ingat aku kawin muda!), perasan awet muda totally gives boost to my adrenalin haha :D so trying to act as if im still an undergrad by dressing like them , but its getting harder when my tummy is starting to show...........thus the 'other' important update:

believe me, it took me this long to hold my stories in my blog, that means it took me that long to sink in the fact i have a miracle growing in my belly. to be fair i'm starting to jot everything about my journey in the good old traditional diary= a hardcover book.

but i'll be sharing the funny stories of how i had a lecture from the doctor on the birds and bees (becoz i was sooo in denial-x pecaye hehe) and little updates of si junior yang pandai isap jari nih, when i have the time. which i have alot of, but i have to dedicate that to assignments and television and movies and going out with husband hehe (yes please hate the unemployed-by-choice me, but im really happy!)

i dont have the facebook ticker-weekly updates becoz why would i want to remind most of the 600 ppl on fb (excluding those that have hidden me in their newsfeed, so maybe that would leave about 20 ppl) how junior is growing each week? im just not that into reporting to everyone, same as how i feel about telling your facebook community where u are every hour~ish, dorg ni x takut stalkers ke?

yeah2 cakap lebat, aku bukan condemn org yang buat, tapi aku kat sini announcing preggers, same jugak kan. hehe. in a way i know most of my readers are total strangers and the ones that do know me have their own extra effort to know whats going on in my life ye tak. hmm or is it preggers over-hormones speaking

Well, im going to KL next week. Alhamdulillah pasal my parents are going to perform Hajj this year. me being the eldest, OF COZ, i worry about my 5 little rascals (even tho dah x brape little dah). camne dorg nak makan minum, kemas rumah? oh, my telephone bill is going up this following month calling them every single day.

Im hoping my parents gain their Haji Mabrur, dipermudahkan urusan & perjalanan and of course stay healthy and happy till they come back to us in December :) InsyaAllah

aku punye cter yang banyak sangat 'continuation' tu is still in drafts. but im excited to go back to school now that i got the offer, sebok sangat siapkan everything for registration this friday :)

haha, memang dorg salah eja 'Business' tu kan :p im excited, nervous, takut, semua lah, dgn otak berkarat ni & jumping totally into a different field from construction to business (^_^). hope i'll survive. aween goes back to school!! wish me luck!!

from inception to departure - Part 2

I sent out emails to companies that were specifically looking for Quantity Surveyors. Honestly most of the were MNC's & GLC's, just decided to start off big before sending to consultancy firms, just to try my luck.

The next few days, I got a reply email from a company, but it wasn't for an interview, it was for a CRBT test (Critical Reasoning Test Battery), i didn't know what it was back then anyways. It was for their recruitment for Management Trainees. Apparently they use it when recruiting their scholars too.

The CRTB test consists of:-

VERBAL EVALUATION (VC)

- the ability to understand written passeges and to logically evaluate arguments
- time: 30 mnutes

(test ni macam test English/Muet je aku rasa, they give u a paragraph and you answer from there)

DIAGRAMMATIC SERIES (DC)

- The ability to reason with diagrammatic material.
- Time: 20 minutes

(yang diagram ni mencabar sket, you really have to understand & have a bit of an imagination to answer, yang aku tau ramai frust time test ni, the kid next to me was on the verge of tears nk jawab, thank god i had done some sample questions online, but still, the last batch of questions tu aku main colour je jawapan, x cukup masa :D)

NUMERICAL INTERPRETATION (NC)

- The ability to understand tables of statistical and numerical data and to make logical deductions from them.
- Time: 30 minutes

(test ni cam maths plus statistics, agak macam spm jugakla but the time given tak sempat nak fikir lama2 if nak jawab semua)

the last sentence of the email stated "Panggilan temuduga bagi pengambilan Eksekutif Pelatih ini akan dibuat bagi mereka yang memenuhi markah lulus Ujian CRTB ini" so i thought cuba jelah kan.
the test was on the 9th Sept 2008, masa tu bulan Ramadhan ye, so off I was on the LRT, sampai sane memang ramai gile manusia, I was thinking already, I don't stand a chance! haha, we were called in batches, and sat for the 3 tests, I didn't make any long-term friends, I figured not worth if, masa tu habis around lunch time, lapar gile, but puasa kan, so balik rumah, tidoooooo

around a week after that, got another email asking me to participate for the "Presentation of Management Trainee', it didn't say a thing about the CRTB test so i figured i passed, tentatively we had to present in groups, the email said it was better if we bought our own laptops, I didn't have a laptop in those days, so i borrowed my cousins one, seb baik becoz it turned out, I was the only one in my group that did.

the presentation was on 22nd Sept 2008, dah lagi sminggu nak raye dah time tu! haha, I arrived at the office just 5 minutes before 9 (sampai ke sudah datang keje tepat2 je), and the first person I met, was Encek Safwan ;p

mamat ni, tanye sepatah, jawab sepatah. sombong tapi rupanya dia kata dia pemalu, uwekk. time presentation ni boleh nampakla a few that stood out, (yang last2 end up jadi bestfriends aku jugak) hehe, namely Majjie & Aziz. Maj dah speaking macam foreigner & Aziz memang terrel menang hati juri, topic dia psal fast food if tak silap.

oh there was also one weird girl, time dia present siap ada lagu ke syair, i have no idea, but it was damn hilarious & unappropriate. sorry la girl, ni bukan interview nak masuk Malaysian Idol. jeez.

anyways we were all put into groups of 5, had to put up a simple slideshow and choose a topic from the list given, my group chose 'unemployment', a safe choice, and since i was the only one that brought a laptop, i made the slideshow.

Each person in the group had to present one sub topic, i remember presenting my points, but one of the bosses in front kept on criticizing all of them, aku menjawab dah tahap bantai je, plus bengang he kept on picking on my points. time tu mmg ingat confirm pakcik ni x suka aku k. Well, after all that, went back home, once I reached setiawangsa I got a call from an interior design company & called me to come for an interview. of course i said yes.

from inception to departure - Part 1

2008

our final semester was over by April 2008, we were graduating in August, so in those 4 months i went to a total of 3 interviews. I was not looking for an immediate job, I wanted to start work after graduating (malas mode). I was already working part time at a consultancy.

Job interview No. 1- this interview wasn't even planned for, my bff Haida called me & asked me to go & try out for this interview she found in the paper, it was looking for Quantity Surveyors to work in Qatar. Mula2 memang malass sangat sebab rase belum ready, but lepas dipujuk Haida, ktorg pegi. oh still have a copy of the add:

haida siap highlight lagi tuk aku, thats how efficient she is :) so we went, we were interviewed seperately, by two Japanese guys, they were really nice & polite & even showed me a whole slideshow of activities in Qatar & their project. I was starting to get interested but didn't get my hopes up. Jauh kot Qatar! working 6 days a week ;p

a week after that i got a call from their headquaters in Qatar, they said i had succeeded the interview & they wanted to offer me a position straight away. I was unsure, but i just told them that i might be willing to accept & start only after i had graduated by end of August, they agreed & in the offer letter they emailed me, the starting date 1st September 2008.

Haida didn't get the offer, neither did our other classmate, so I was a bit skeptical about going by myself. So eventho I had already signed the offer letter (as they had to prepare a work visa for me), I started doing my research. I contacted my 2 seniors that were working & living in the Middle East, Abg Farid & Abg Faizal (no not my faizal).I chatted with them through ym a lot & asked them every single thing i could think of. they were supportive, but a bit worried for me coz i was a girl & they were willing to help get me contacts if i decided to go :)

I was feeling prepared & ok with going there, 5 years contract. masa tu, sayang was already working in Sabah, I consulted him a bit, but me being the egoistic aween, if he said he supported me in anything i wanted to do, just that he was sad & worried about me, I really just thought he was jealous of me going elsewhere & trying to control me. betul, I really under-appreciated him then :(

In the mean time I was still in contact with the reps from Qatar, I asked them when I could sign the work contract to confirm. they told me the offer letter was it. okay, a one paged letter je? then after i kept on pressing them to sign a contract, they replied I only had to sign the actual contract when I reached Qatar. now that struck a suspicious cord.

I was unsure again & started asking Hunny (who was working in Dubai at the time) what I should do. She asked me the salary they were offering & told me it was way to low for me to save & survive, she said counter-offer the company, if not it wasn't worth it. after that I just felt like maybe I shouldn't go, takut!

sooooo, after thinking it through, i just decided to see how it went. if the company at the last minute offered to sign the contract in KL, i would at least consider, but they didn't. they kept calling & emailing me to remind me of my departure date & sent me the flite tickets & working visa. but in the end. i didn't go.

i decided to wait till my convocation was over before i started job-hunting, i sent out emails to a few companies on 31st August & waited to be called for interviews.

end of part 1

First month in Kota Kinabalu

Week 1

our flite to KK was on saturday, 16th July, my parents & lil' bros sent us to lcct (tickets were bought 5 days before-cekik darah!)

this was our first time going back to KK in the same flite, and 2nd time flying together, the first time was for our honeymoon ;p

hubby currently is addicted to angry birds- no comment

I was hungry as hell so I ordered the cheese pizza, my first try at it, it was ok, cheesy!

we reached our rented apartment (that we have already painted & bought basic furniture-sneak peak) & started unwrapping everything. it was exhilarating! & we slept at 3am that nite! haha. we also went to Sen Heng & bought essential electrical items

that evening we caught a glimpse of a rainbow in front of our new home :) the rest of the week hubby went back to work as usual & I stayed at home cleaning up & organizing everything. my car also arrived in KK 6 days after we did :) happyyyy (got the shipping contact from my high school friend Meera, whos moved to Kuching with her hubby)

on 21st July, we got an sms early in the morning, our beloved aunt, Hajjah Sukiah, had passed away after an operation. i was shocked & sad coz i didn't get to see her at the hospital, when we had already planned to go visit her later that day ;'(

arwah aunt sukiah was the one who put the

ring on my finger at our engagement ;'(

so for the following 7 days there were kenduri tahlils at their house.

in this week we also went to Aizat's Borneo concert :) it was fun! & i bought his new cd & a badge (which i dont remember where i put, err)

besides Aizat, there was also Fuzz, Altimet, Amir Jauhari, and Jimmy Palikat (local sabahan singer)

Week 2

Week 2 was spent mostly prepping up the house to receive our first guests, my parents! huhu. Also Astro, telephone line & streamyx (most important life line) all came in this week too. On the weekends we went back to Papar to fetch hubby's youngest brother to treat him to the movies (Captain America) & dinner coz he just bagged the 'Best Sportsman' Award from his high school, MRSM Kota Kinabalu. bangga la jugak :)

i did catch a few weird moments in this movie (when he was skinny), his head didnt exactly match his body, apparently the director said all of it was acted by chris evans, just that they shrunk his face n body. overall effects were ok

on Sunday morning (31st July), the last day before Ramadhan, we were driving to Labuan to fetch my parents & bro. the journey from KK took about 2 1/2 hours. We parked my car at the Menumbok Jetty, the locals there rented out their front lawns for parking, so for an overnight fee we payed just RM10.

we were actually in Labuan coz my bro got an offer to further his studies at Institut Latihan Perindustrian while he was at his PLKN so we accepted the offer & bought the flite tickets to Labuan right away, the next 3 weeks he gets an offer from Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara Kinarut (which is just 10-15 minutes from my house), so we decided to accept that instead.

So, tickets were already bought, we planned for an overnite trip to Labuan, grab lotss of chocolates and go back to KK the next day. We had our first sahur this year at the foodcourt behind Grand Dorsett Hotel. hehe

Week 3

This week was spent mostly with my family, shopping stuff for my bro, and registering him, mama went back to KL first, then by the end of the week abah flew back to KL, my bro comes back to my house when hes allowed to sleep out of campus, so ade jugakla muka familiar kat sini.

Week 4

well its bulan puasa, and so far I haven't had any off days yet! by a miracle i hope i get to fast for the whole month! amin aminnn. Iftar so far, there has been quite a few days we've eaten out, ermm, fast food sume covered, McD, KFC, Pizza Hut, Secret Recipe, & a few restaurants like Thien Thien (our favourite), Kenny Rogers & buffet outlets (rugi pasal aku makan sikit je) , and I have been (slowly) learning to cook, heheh, so hubby s now my guinea pig of food tasting :) , ok semalam dah cuba buat kuih raya first (simple je tuk org yang xde oven cam aku) choco cornflakes & sayur kailan goreng! kagum dgn diri sendiri :D haha

The Tale of 3 Cities

London - Kuala Lumpur - Kota Kinabalu

LONDON

I was born in Westminster, the heart of London in 1985. Thus for the following almost 11 years of my childhood, I was a Malaysian kid growing up in the UK. With all my childhood days getting happier day by day, dad informed us that we were going to Malaysia for good. for a kid to leave her school, her beloved bestfriends, all the familiar places she knew from growing up. Well, it was hard. Very hard!

The last day at Heathrow airport was really sad for me, the day before my bestfriend dannielle had dropped by our house to say goodbye. We promised to be friends forever, and over the years, from air mail to fb, we still are :)

KUALA LUMPUR

We arrived in KL somewhere in March 1995. I was adapting. Adapting to being made fun of by my cousins (still had the difficulty of pronouncing malay words perfectly), adapting to having tanned skin (heheh, we couldnt stay away from the beach & the outdoors!) and most of all, adapting to not having my bestfriends around anymore.

Eventho we had come back in March, I only starting going to school in August '95. Why so late? reason being that my mum insisted I go to Convent Bukit Nanas (advised by our relavites -also former CBNers) and it was so hard to get into. So i had lots of time to learn Bahasa Malaysia in my own free time. I cried every single time I missed my old home/school/friends and this was the start of my life phase where i learnt to grow up, to mature, to learn.

While growing up in KL, I made new friends, some that I shall treasure for a lifetime, some just turned out to be my lost siblings :) and it was in Uni years that I met my soulmate. KL holds so many of our love stories, KL is also where we later got engaged and married..which brings us to our next city:-

KOTA KINABALU

After 16 years of school/uni/work life in KL, as of July 16th, 2011, I have moved to Kota Kinabalu, the Land below the wind to start my new life with my not-so-new hubby :) and to put things short, it hasn't been that hard to adapt.

I guess its because I've been flying over to KK over the past 2 years for both work & personal reasons, but KK is still a city (eventhough not as full of skyscrapers in KL), and I am such a City girl.

Well this is just the beginning of something new, new environment, new family members, new friends and learning to be independant now that my mum & my lil sis are more than 1000km away from me (T_T). Life will stand still & be boring if we didn't take that big leap.

p/s: can't help gazing at the beautiful sea everyday. it still mesmerizes me. kengkadang bahaya pasal tngah driving pun tngok laut. erk

300 days of love!

today we have been husband & wife for 300 days :)

wouldn't have noticed if it weren't for our wedding ticker

it feels extra special because we are finally living together like a majority of married couples (total 18 days now)

the 300 days have been full of learning, patience, understanding & most importantly LOVE (scratch the fact we were apart for 70% of those 300 days) im soo grateful!!

tq for always taking care & pampering me :)

Turning Twenty Sixty

a year has passed and last 2 months ago it was my birthday. huhuu. a bit down that i've passed the quarter decade mark but then again, when i turned 24 i was melancolic too. hehe. (yet another year without him next to me on my birthday.haih)

the fact is.. im so freakin blessed to have the people around me for their small & big gestures on making the day i dont celebrate so much quite a special one. it doesnt take much to make me happy. i only make it compulsory for the closest in my life to remember dates like this (thank u korg u know who u are. i miss u all so much T_T) & yes.. i was happy & fat on my bday.weeee

patut amek cuti je tido seharian kat rumah. but that would be just sad. and too lonely for me (hubby xde di sisi) so i went to the office jugak.

eventho hubby cakap tahun ni xde special delivery pasal nanti aku bosan, hehe, dia tetap hantar a cute bunch of roses wif mint chocs (my favourite flavour) ohhh, i love u sayang!!
lunch hour my bubbling bubbies brought me to Levain boulangerie patisserie (mmg aku copy paste saje nama tu psl susah nak eja) off Jalan Imbi. The girls treated me to breads & deserts & my first tasting of macaroons (ok i have tasted macaroons at hotel buffets tapi first try MANIS gila trus aku dislike) . but the macaroons at Levain were quite ok. especially the hazelnut praline flavour :)

back to the office had another suprise waiting :) my office colleagues bought me a cake! eventho we have a quarterly budget to spend on birthdays every 3 months (so patutnya my birthday would be celebrated in June) dorg still belikan bday cake just for me :) kak huda & kak noly lah dalangnye. tq akaks !! me loves u so much!!

after the movie, we went home & got ready for a romantic dinner up at the revolving restaurant at KL Tower (hubby's second suprise bday treat). ok pengakuan, eventho I live & work in KL , despite my high school is on the same hill as KL Tower, I have NEVER gone up it, penah sampai paling dekat pun kat entrance bawah je. haha

kesinambungan entry terdahulu..on an early beautiful saturday morning after sleeping for (almost) 3 hours, we woke up to take our showers & solat subuh & to get ready for the reception. We changed into our bride & groom t-shirts (wajib!) and me & hubby took turns pakai inai (memang instant habis! hehe) helped by my bro & sis-in-laws, dila & fadhli :)

while we were waiting for our henna to dry off (hubby occasionally dozing off to sleep), my darling 'PuRe arrived :) yays! walaupun they were all dressed up and were actually supposed to be my wedding guests, tetap aku mintak dorg teman & help me out (i love u gals foreverrr)!

outside the wedding was already going on, with the kulintangan (the alat music) playing beautifully in the background, us dengan kelam kabut angkut all our outfits and me non-stop on the phone with my videographer & make-up artist, we hurried off to hubby's uncle's house across the road. We were gonna get ready there.

Masa tu dah almost 8am, but org kampung ramai yang dah sampai and tngah makan-makan, so we tried to blend in with our t-shirt & jeans (kantoi a bit coz we were carrying our gold outfits!) and my syg kna tahan la 2-3 kali org ajak dia borak to wish congrats, hehe (ok another kantoi point was our screaming t-shirts kan? haha)

after safely arriving at uncle ghulam's house i went to put in my contact lens (oh for ALL my receptions i wore contacts, yg effect nmpk mata besar tu, 'FreshLook Illuminate' ~without any power), sangat best contacts nih, especially since im a first time user, ehehe (oppp selingan plak)..me jabbing my eyes & make up & syg gets down to bisnes, briefing his bro's on the tentative program (which he planned & i typed the day before)

and then it was make-up time!

sementara tu c-nah tolong make-up kan my pengapit. hee

lepas itu, sesi memakai baju bajau traditional,

memang perlukan bantuan dari yang pakar ;)

terasa macam princess zaman dulu (hahah)

after we were all ready & made up, we climbed into our cousins car for a ride to the 'usungan', with was about 600 meters away

we had two cute-dressed up horses and a

kompang group to lead us to the reception

our 'usungan', kenderaan yang dihias seperti perahu

INFO: There are different customs for each suku kaum, my father-in-law is from the suku-kaum Bajau Samah (Bajau Darat), thus it is also different for the customs practiced for those berketurunan datu (nadhirah i pinjam ur link k, sgt informative). Maka, bagi kaum bajau yang bukan berketurunan "Datu" (seperti Faizal & Azwin), usungan yang mereka naiki berbentuk perahu.

anddd...as the truck apperently did not have a small ladder, thus came the sweet gesture that all the wedding guests thought as our suprise gimmick. and i honestly tell u now. all of that was totally unplanned!

after getting off the usungan, we were lead to the pelamin

before we were to proceed to the dais,

we had traditional dancers performing

(oh yeah, the male dancers lebih lentik dari pengantin perempuan u olls!)

then uncle nih bawak ktorg round depan pelamin,

x ingat brape kali, 3/4, ktorg tak tahu kenapa, follow saje

Im at klia's kfc counting the minutes away to board the 9am flite to kota kinabalu where i hope to arrive straight into the hug of my big teddy-bear husband.

this month has went by so fast, yet I feel like i haven't met my hubby for a year. maybe it was becoz i was in Ipoh for those 10 days, not being in our bedroom full of his pics, his cute artwork..yes, keadaaan sekeliling amat memberi influence kepada aku.

well seeing as im only blogging to spend the time away, i have in my list some pics to share on my close friends wedding & my ex-personal driver (tashaa i miss u so much!!), what i did in Ipoh & oh, the lovely bday celebration food, loves and more food (u canNOT diet on ur bday, totally impossible for me).

this time around, im actually trying to sink in the fact that i have passed the quarter life age border, i am now in another age group. seriously, like just now i was filling in the online survey by klia before they gave me the access for wifi, age group 26-30. It feels like im supposed to have achieved something more by changing into the next age group..

question is..what have i acheived? these upcoming months im gonna reflect, re-plan and push myselve to strive for more. honestly i need a boost.

original plan masa sebok berwedding planning, was just to go to Pangkor Island Resort coz hubby's friend graciously gave us a voucher. Dah saat2 akhir (2 months before our wedding), tiba2 syg calls and says he had changed his mind.

'Aku rasa mau pergi Terengganu la'

ermm, reaksi bridezilla aween pada waktu itu? risau..risau risau risau (bace dgn nyanyi lagu bodoh tu), cukup duit ke tetibeee je last minute nak pegi Redang, pastu kat Laguna plak. Syg kata jgn risau, insyaAllah ada rezeki nye (and hes always right usually). Then we made the deposit & confirmed our love date to:-

INFO: we got a promotional priced package, as we were going towards the end of the year (Resorts in East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia are closed from November-March due to the Northeast Monsoon), about 10-15% less, package includes meals, ferry transfer, all activites and bus tiket to airport

dalam negara je.. hubbyku ini, susah gila nak kuar dari msia, nak pergi Thailand, dia takut nanti aku kena culik & kena potong kaki & tangan & he'll find me 5 years after in a freak show event (familiar tak cter ni, thanx to the gory email penah dapat dolu2).

haih, so aku cadang Bali, Indonesia. Dia takut plak earthquake, nanti ktorg kena telan bumi,, aduhh.. eventho aku dah cakap berulang kali, if nak jadi malapetaka, tak kira dah kita kat mana, kat dalam rumah pun boleh jadi, but, dia masih taknak (jadi tahun ni aku berazam nak heret dia kuar dr msia skejap, ahh, singapore pun jadilah!)

we went on our honeymoon, 2 days after our wedding (4th October), penat giler ok, masih tak cukup tido from before wedding, the day after wedding, lepas dah 2-3 jam session bukak hadiah in the morning, ktorg pegi open house lagi & settlekan barang2 pinjaman/hutang yang mana boleh, kul 3pagi bru dpt lelapp..

stage pembukaan hadiah, seb baik my aunts, uncles and cousins masih rmai sleepover that nite, dpt la menyaksikan pembukaan hadiah kami yang sgt lama tu , hehe

thanx soo much semua org! got overwhelming number of hadiah. i cant thank each and every one of u enuf!!

next day bgn kul 5pg nak bersiap ke lcct catch our 7.30am flite, pheww..

DAY 1 - 4th October 2010

We went to kl sentral to catch the bus to lcct. parents aku hantar (hehe, rasa mcm klaka parents yg hantar ke honeymoon). Dalam bus tetido dua-dua hekor :)

dalam ferry memang we were one of the only two couples in the ferry! gila best! kosong gila and dgn aircon kuat, ktorg tertido half of the way.

we entered our room at around 3pm, after throwing down our bags, taking a good shower, me & hubby were really2, exhausted! we hadn't had a full nite sleep for almost a week (plus 2 nites of wedding without hardly an hour sleep), so we set our alarm clocks to go off at 7.30pm, in time for dinner :)

i wake up to find its already dark outside, hubby is still sleeping like a baby. dgn confidentnya aku terus bgun nak bersiap ke dinner, i woke hubby up & we looked at our clocks & realized, it was already 1am in the morning! hahah, tido tak ingat dunia dah tu..dah melepas satu dinner sedap kt laguna, but in exchange got a real good nites sleep :) sgtt worth it (tapi tido balik dlm keadaan lapar gila coz ktorg xde bawak makanan satu apa pun tuk mkn kt bilik, hehe)

DAY 2 : 5th October 2010

bangun awal! (dah hampir half a day smlm tido je kan) pastu pegi breakfast. makan xhingat dunia psl buffet dia best & sume sedap! seriously, food review tuk Laguna Redang! sangat puas hati (that is why i gained weight after honeymoon) hehe! dah kenyang & gembira perut dah penuh, ktorg balik bilik, bersiap for the snorkeling trip to the redang marine park. speed boat bording time: 9am

abg baywatch sedang tekun menyapu sunblock x mahu kulit terbakar

before boarding the boat, we had an instructor brief us on the safety aspects to be taken at the park, what to do & not to do, and some emergency signals to do if we had trouble in the sea. after soaking all the info in, we boarded the speed boat & reached the marine park. cantik sesangat, again xde byk amek gmbr, psl x bawak camcorder takut hilang, hehe

after around 2 blisfull hours of swimming around, feeding the fist and bumping into them as well, we were called back for the boat to head back to laguna

then it was time for lunch. makaaaaan lagi dgn happynyee

next agenda, melawat kawasan resort. (ada snorkeling trip again at 3pm but we skipped that one)

dah jenjalan sekejap, dpt msg from vendor (kacau daun btul),

dia nk mintak bayaran tang tu jugak,

so we asked the resort staff for internet.

fair enuf:

ini cekik darah ok! but keadaan memaksa, we payed, for 2 pc! hahaha. apelagi dah bayar mahal, online banking tu 5 minit je, the rest of the time was spent looking at the sooo many pics of our wedding uploaded by our friends on fb, duk balas2 comment, like2 gambar, and of coz comic reading (husbands hobby when he gets online)

selepas berjaya heret syg kluar dari internet room (err, ke it was vice versa? hehe) kitorg sambung tour sekeliling resort, not much to explore, ada byk guest rooms, and lovely ballroom. the we stopped at the pool side & had ice-creammm

adventure diteruskan dgn lepak2 tepi pantai, sandy white beach, tido atas kerusi kayu, dibuai angin bayu (ok that ryhmes) and op-cos cam whoring

after dah puas lepak sehingga sebelum smpai maghrib, we headed back to our love nest to get ready for dinner :) (bru sedar x byk gambar but byk video, pkai camcorder baru! heee)

dah puas bergambar, ktorg lepak kat bilik tngok tv, dia mmg ada one channel that shows the movie 'Summer Holiday' all day long-24 hours, even so we didnt actually watch the movie from beginning to end! hehe, sebelum gerak g lunch, trus siap barang tuk snorkelling

sudah kenyang lepas lunch balik bilik gather snorkeling stuff to go on our next trip, snorkelling at the open sea! weeee (takut!)

the other tourists on our boat, ktorg je msian, the rest were from korea, japan & europe. cool

nampak cam stranded je semua orang kna tinggal dlm laut. okeh truth be told, byk coral kt open sea tu dah mati, so to me lagi la mende tu nampak scary kan...wargh, ada a few parts that the coral was still colourful & gorgeous tho..

dah puas snorkel in the open sea, we dragged ourselves on to the boat again, and cam-whoring seround seblum tourist lain naik boat :)

dah balik snorkeling tu, ktorg mmg dah lapar gila! so we had some potato chips that were in our room, then trus kluar semula and terjun ke dalam swimming pool! yahuu! wajib cuba semua! masing2 layan lap sendiri. best gila workout swimming :)

after kanak2 ribena dah puas berjemur, i evenhad the wrinkly skin already from being too long in the water, ktrg balik lepak2 mandi manda, terus pegi melahap kat dinner buffet, bbq nite :)

malam tu lepak2 kat tepi laut, bestla our last nite, ada live music band, dorg nyanyi semua bahasa, french, malay, english, spanish, besssst sgt! then dh mgantuk ktorg tapau a slice of cake for next day nye activity

pasang alarm clock nak bangun before sunrise, ehehe, berjaya bangun. plannye nak tngok sunrise sambil mkn cake, oh, cheesecake ye! (gemuk lagi) but sambil tngok2 matahari timbul, sambil borak dgn hubby yang separa lalok & mamai, tngok langit tak brape cerah, mendung2 sket, so it wasn't such a clear sunrise, but breath takingly gorgeous all the same :)

bus laguna brought us to Kuala Terengganu for some shopping and jalan2 on our own (our flite pun kul 8pm) so we did some souvenir shopping, bag shopping kat pasar payang & makan sedap kat gerai tepi jalan jeh. bus suh bkumpul semula at 5pm

tngah tunggu depan bus, waiting for the other tourists to arrive, syg started calling his vendor for our sabah wedding. it was then that i knew 'wokeyh, honeymoon is officially over! next sabah wedding prep coming up!'. heheh, blum smpai kl lagi syg dh start stress semula..ciann dia

then we reached the airpot, bla bla bla smpai kl sentral, parents datang ambil anak2 mereka yang masih love-struck & rindukan pulau redang itu :)

1) Time sanding atas pelamin, my eyes (rabun pun nampak ok!) terpaku kat baju ash (my emcee) and i saw dia macam tak pkai badge corsage tu! trus mata aku mencari wina (adik aku yg incharge mende tu) nak tanye apsal ash tak diberi badge!

trus aku bisik kat haida (pengapitku), "ash tak pkai corsage!!",

haida dah cam "ish, ada kot tu, jgn fikir dah, senyum!"...

2) Masa sanding, makan beradab, berjalan, etc, sentiasa cuit and bisik kat sygku,
"yang, make sure senyum!"..

3) the nite before nikah was a total of 2 nites aku tak tido at all, my grilfrens/bridesmaids sume duk sound "aween boleh tak pegi berehat jap, pegi tido, ko pengantin kot!",

aku diam meneruskan isi door gifts nikah dlm bag kertas..then ain sound lagi.."aween, pegi tido jap boleh? aku tngok ko cam letih gila"

air mata aku mula menitis (kata emo), pasal aku tak sanggup tido tngok my girlfrens buat kerja aku sampai dorg sendiri tak tido, nangis berjujuran air mata kat situ ok, then terpaksa dorg pujuk aku (smbil sound jugak, hehe),

"apa tujuan ktorg kat sini if bkn pasal nak tolong ko?" (ok bler tringat rasa nak nangis semula), after that sume malas nk paksa aku tido, dah biasa dgn prangai aku yg emo :D tapi aku tido gak 20minits, seblum haida n wna sampai dgn brekfast McD ktorg

4) pagi nikah kul 7am, duk angkut kain & seterika nak balut meja nikah tu, kna sound dgn ain again

"win, ko pegi mandi skrg! biar aku buat tu!", aku jawab, "takpe2, kejap je"

then trus ain rampas kain tu..hehe, eh ke ini ain yg bridezilla? hahahah

5) Pasal Bunting & Banners, patutnya, sue from Qisdhi dah cakap dia leh antar the buntings to me on friday morning, but aku nak hari khamis jugak (eventho aku yg bru order brapa hari seblum tu, kira lmbtla kan aku), so aku ckp kt sue aku nak g amek jugak sendri petang khamis tu, nasib baik kt sri rampai je, sanggup meredah jam (psl ada pasar malam) semata2 aku nak jugak gantung malam tu..craziness!

6) mengamuk kat Dzul de'classique tu, okla bukan mengamuk, tapi perli2 dgn nada sarcastic aku and trus buat muka tak puas hati kat situ. tetap nak suh dorg tambahkan balik every-single-manik (i am originally a drama queen anyway, haha)

7) Semua hantaran aku nak gubah sendiri, bukan pasal ape, pasal aku nk control design, jadi aku boleh guna bunga baby blue yang aku dah lamaaaa nak try tu, hehe..jadinya aku yang buat the main design and semua lah, lagipun aku suka yang simple2, kang org lain buat dgn renda2 segala..monyok plak muka aku time nikah tu nanti .heee, but of coz kak fid tolong sambung my initial design 3 of the remaining dulang which mmg cantik gila!!

8) Lepas aku purchase apa2 barang baru yang aku akan jadi obsessed dengan benda tu for at least 4 days (contohnya badge, bunga tuk dulang hantaran, veil, cincin etc). Dalam sehari aku akan belek satu-satu, susun kat lantai, amek gambar, then simpan elok2 dalam kotak, 2 hours after that, bukak kotak, then ulang routine yang sama..heee, thats how puas hati i am with stuff aku beli/buat sendiri, ini bukan bridezilla kan? ini psycho namanye, hehe

(ye sang suami aku pun naik pening tngok, ada satu time tu sebelum bertunang, aku keep on kluarkn cincin tunang tu dri kotak and letak kat jari, satu hari tu terlupa cincin tu still kt jari, memang membebel dah dia tngok aku nye carelessness..ehehehe..)

9) Hafal & masih hafal sapa yang datang and/or tak datang wedding aku, hehe..

masalahnya aku ingat everything, like sapa yang tak datang tapi dah wish or bg hadiah or at least had the curtesy to tell me why they couldn't make it..yang dijemput tapi xde response langsung on why they didn't come or even wish me 'selamat pengantin baru' i admit , sakit hati jugak sket (over -emo, yes i know that too)
part yang kawan rapat (or aku je yang ingat rapat) yang kata lupa wedding aku tu, tah, aku terasa la jugak, totally salah sendiri, pasal silap categorize kawan,. haha, dlm hidup aku je dorg penting, tapi bukan vice-versa (oh aween ur such a loser!),

and note: yang penting bukan hadiah, its the thought that counts, geddit?..

10) Masih tanye kat Jenal what happened during my reception, like "dorg main ke song list aku kat dewan? aku x ingat/dengar", Jenal jawab "main la kot, aku mase tu sebok jaga parking", then I still keep asking him (degil!) and Jenal kna jawab "aween, wedding ko dh lepas kot, biar jelaaaaa"....aween jawab: "yeah, but we didnt do any post mortem, so i still wanna know"..ahhh, aku ni mmg annoying :D

11) Masa kat atas pelamin, sempat lagi bagi arahan on the spot and macam2 lagi yang aku tak hingat. sumpah aku takkan ingat pun if bukan pasal gmbar candid. jeez

12) pernah mengamuk , baling-baling barang dalam bilik and menangis sepuas-puas hati sebab terlampau stress fikir pasal duit, sekali je la i let my non-rational side effect me (lain sangat rasanya when u have to pay for totally everything. be thankful if ur not like us.heh)

13) merajuk & marah sayang 2 days before our solemnization, memang time tu marah teramat sangat memang xle kawal perasaan. it was wednesday nite right after i had finished my final spa session, syg picked me up from my bridal and wallah, he went to get a new haircut while i was at the spa.

dah tau dah dia nak potong rambut but i specifically told him 'jgn pendek sgt' skali aku masuk kreta and tngok, terus marah2 & i even cried ok (over nak mampus bila ingat balik, hehe) so lepas dah marah & syg dh rasa bersalah gila, i kol wina mengadu-damba mcm biase, sampai rumah ada dira, i mengadu kat dira pulak and she pujuk's me saying, 'aween! sgt okla rambut faizal tu! jgn risau, its nice laaa!'

dgr dira ckp macam tu barula rasa cam ok sket, at least org yg bru tngok rambut syg boleh ckp 'its ok' and yeah it actually was ok ;p ....kott..

(still looks too short on the sides but hey, whatever, hahah)

14) there were tonnes of times I would feel like giving up, especially when seeing other b2b's, how pretty they were, how wonderful their prep was.. it made me feel..so un-layak to be a bride, I really believed that I wasn't pretty enuf to be a bride, and I'm still not pretty, but my sis, bestfrens & syg knocked some sense into me before I got cold feet ;p yang penting we love each other. apa yang penting? haruslah kerjasama ;)

15) akan push semua org supaya ikut the timetable that i had made. card kawin mesti kena siap by July! (rule aku buat sendiri) maka aku akan follow-up, sms, call, pesture semua org yang berkenaan supaya siap pada bulan yang aku dah set..mesti, wajib, kena!

16) After wedding reception dah over kat dewan, makcik-makcik cleaner dah datang tuk mengemas, i took off my shoes, sangkut ekor baju pengantin aku over my shoulder and start organize pembawakan balik hadiah ke rumah. Also lari2 angkut barang susun depan pintu tuk menyenangkan my committee tuk angkut masuk dalam kereta. Huu, patutnya ktorg lepas reception terus gerak g photoshoot. tapi aku memang xnk pegi selagi tak pastikan everything settle kat dewan dulu. Hehe, dengan kepenatan aku mintak sapa yang tinggal tolong aku kutip sekali segala sampah sarap & double check semua meja angkut balik all my centerpieces. hasilnya ktorg gerak lmbt g photoshoot & no thanx to jln ampangs' famous traffic jam ktorg tak sempat habiskn shoot

but everything happens for a reason, ktorg buat another photoshoot in KL 2 months after.

kesimpulannya, maybe a bit of the bridezilla characteristics had seeped into me, but rasanya aku banyak belajar tuk bersabar (itu apa yang aku rasa je, hehe, cant speak on behalf of my frens/family). untung la vendors aku sebab aku dah berubah, if you had dealed with the aween before, lagi nightmare la hidup korg! Most points, I dont think it was me being a bridezilla, but mostly me being my own wedding planner, xde org yang tahu details of the wedding as well as what was in my head :)

the loveliest thing is, even with all my cerewetness, annoyingness, tantrums and breakdowns, the one most important person stayed with me all the way and comforted me even if he was feeling just (if not more) stressed than i was. im so glad we went thru all this together syg :) it just went to prove we make a kick-ass good team & we cant live without each other eyh?

once i had confirmed me & syg were wearing light grey for our reception, maka i wanted my family to wear the same (bigger family were already told they can choose to wear either pink or grey or both).

for the record, ada wedding tips that i had read in blogs & magazines said that its better that your family is wearing a different colour than the bride & groom. supaya tak "tenggelam". actually btul sgt point tu, tapi dalam kes aku, i dont mind tenggelam with my parents and siblings. aku mmg NAK kitorg sedondon on our day :) ikut selera masing2 rite

kain light grey kami telah diborong di Jakel, sumpah if nak lagi murah beli kat Nagoya, tapi masa ni alang2 nak cari kain lace tuk mama & wina, kami borong ja sekaligus. RM14/m. haih, mahal gak kain satin ni, tp kain tebal & berkualiti la kot..

THE RECEPTION HALL

I booked my wedding hall a year in advance! check out my previous post for those details.

thus one of my compulsory points in my 'things-to-do' list menjelang july 2010 is to check out the hall & draw out the hall area& all its facilities :)

oh selingan, i also drew up my own map to the hall, try google kat internet jumpa google maps jeh, luckily mama had a friend who was having her daughters wedding at ampang hilir so i used their map as a basis. Utk bakal pengantin yang nk guna gemalasari as ur wedding hall, here is the map i jotted down wif wina while on the way back to work (ye, my office seblah tabung haji tu je) heh

mesti korg ingat aku nak tulis pasal the oh-so-cliche thinking of what (mostly) married couples do pada "Malam Jumaat" (yang berfikiran blue senantiasa tu)

well, your right

tapi ini pun pasal aku dah makin muak dgn org buat joke "Malam Jumaat" tu maka aku nk huraikan satu persatu apa yang buat aku rasa mende ni takde lah lawak sangat (especially buat mereka yang suka buat this lame joke thru their social networking accounts and thru normal conversations):-

1) Repetition

Ok, so its mysteriously funny & exciting, kita boleh buat activity bersama pasangan dengan mendapat pahala bonus (untuk yang dah kahwin la, yang belum kawin , camane pun ko nak kejar pahala ni, dosa berganda je ko dapat). but kamonla, takkan every week ko perlu bgtau your family & friends the same thing/joke? Boringla dik buat lawak yang sama, which membosankan & turns out really annoying ;p

2) Menyedihkan

dgn hebatnya ko nak announce kat twitter/fb shoutout "yes malam jumaat! malam ni , makan besar la aku". Tahniah la kan. Ko dah kahwin! So you only have hubungan suami isteri on average once a week? hari lain tak dapat makan besar ye bang? kesian kesian...(entah entah tak dapat , tapi sengaja nak announce so that friends will think 'oh! hes THE man!')

3) Menjatuhkan Air Muka
ok ini hubby sendri yang cter tak puas hati kat aku (i am so lucky to have hubby yang berfikiran sama dgn ku), hubby met up his friend for lunch, isteri kawan dia tu pun ada, dorg bru kahwin, so hubby asks 'ko balik kampung ka mlm ni geng?' kawan dia jawab, 'ala bro, malam ni kan malam jumaat, aku tido hotel malam ni' (sambil pandang bini dia dgn muka geli2), so ok , buat statement tu skali sudah kan, ini hubby cter, kwn dia duk ulang scenario yang sama sampai kawan tu nye bini dh muka malu & marah. so cube cter kat..best ke camtu?best ke memalukan isterimu? xbest kan..cheh

4) Ilmu setakat itu je?

Tahu tak apa fadhlat Malam Jumaat yang lain-lain? mesti kena google baru nak tahu kan? (ok aku pun sama but at least aku tak narrow minded fikir Malam Jumaat buat satu menda je). Banyak lagi amalan yang kita boleh buat untuk mengejar pahala. contohnya bace Yasiin, mengaji, solat sunat, dll. and i quote " Hari Jumaat sangat besar di sisi Allah, bahkan lebih besar dari hari raya Aidul Fitri dan Aidul Adha, kerana di antara malam dan siangnya tersimpan masa yang paling mustajab, tidak ada tabir penghalang doa insan terhadap Ilahi."

5) Respect

bila kita bercakap tu, agak2 r, respect sket org lain, mungkin ada orang tak selesa dengan lawak ko yang tak lawak tu, depan family members, depan wanita lain yang mungkin membuatkan dia tak selesa mendengarnya, dan lain-lain lagi, kan tak pasal2, orang ingat ko ni kurang educated, duk cakap lawak ituuuuu je.

Just last year i was jotting down details in my hantaran checklist...

We saved quite a lot of money on our hantarans as we bought all raw material for the 16 dulangs sekaligus, I decorated most of the hantarans and lucky me got such a great bestfriend (my one and only SOEDAYDAH) that lent me all her dulangs for FREE plus lent me the lovely flowers and silver & gold boxes from her engagement & wedding :)

dari dulu-duluuu lagi i have always wanted to give syg books as a hantaran. I love reading & so does he, so wanted to share our interest on our dulangs. Found a lot of good reviews on Ustaz Saiful Islam's books and have also read his blog and rasa sesuaila beli buku ni tuk hubby so he can learn and I can learn together. The books are:

i) 'Aku Terima Nikahnya'

ii) 'Sampai ke Syurga' the second book after 'Aku Terima Nikahnya' and Dr. Gray's famous relationship book

iii) 'Men are from mars, Women are from Venus' and syg punya special request a book on

iv)investment/investing (his new hobby apparently now)

heheh, nothing special about our hantaran cake, just ordinary new york cheesecake from secret recipe :) even one of my aunts had asked 'eh, bday sape ni?' hahah, simple sgt cake smpai dia ingat cake bday je..

well, because most of our budget had gone towards the event at the hall, so we decided to tone down the expenditure on our hantarans. so there you are, no fondant or fancy flowers, i guess the only thing special to me is I bought the cake at a special discounted price thanks to mama's friend who is a branch manager at secret recipe. Got a delicious cake & payed less for it :D

Eventhough my hantarans & deco are nothing much to flaunt about, but I have this sense of overwhelming satisfaction, becoz even tho simple, tak grand, tak mahal, I did it by myself & that always makes me happy (the feeling of being in-charge, hehe). and decorating it myself saved me alot alot alot of money..

thus, put aside the fact that i didn't get enough sleep 2 weeks before the wedding because I only had time to d-i-y everything late at nite/early in the morning, it was really worth it :)

tapi if ada duit, tempahla kat professionals or ur other family members to do it, lose a bit on the stress and sleep part, hehe

there were around 4 or 5 contests, each untuk kategory sendiri, make-up & busana, video & photography, pelamin deco, etc. and to tell the truth i sent in entries for almost all of them, saje nak try my luck

time ni dah brangan dah, kalaulah dapat khemah ni,

at least xdela nampak simple sangat nikah &

malam berinai aku kat umah nanti

& boleh guna duit tuk bayar catering

in April 2010, kak Suria from NSJ Events came over to our house to discuss on what event i was having & the theme colour i wanted for the deco. Honestly, time tu i still wasn't sure what colours to choose as i had already set my heart and konon having a white themed colour wedding

tapi kak suria advised (kata pun khemah consultant), biarlah ada colour sikit, bru nampak ceria & meriah, my mum & sis pun stuju so we all agreed on white, cream & gold for the khemah deco. thus everything else followed along as well, gold + cream

view from the front, there are actually 2 canopies, kak suria's is the one behind, the one in front is by my mums friend (dpt harga sgt murah, extremely lower than market rate)

tadaaaaaa, this is the lovely decorated canopy from NSJ Events, 20 x 20ft size, full with gold & white deco, 4 fully decorated tables, 32 chairs with cover & ribbons, meja beradap luciously decorated with fresh gorgeous flowers, large fans, backdrop, garden deco & ceiling garden balls (with lights) as well as 8 white-ribboned chivalry chairs :)

KL Reception [021010] : The Details (1)

THEME COLOUR

i had decided on light pink-grey theme way back in this post. What influenced me to chose these colours? Haaa..sebab musabab nye adalah seperti tertera dibawah:-

1) cari colour/combination of colours that my larger family has not used yet for any wedding/engagement, etc.

2) cari colour yang boleh blend in with the wallpaper of my wedding reception hall (dewan gemalasari has the walls full of red maroonish wall paper)

3) choose soft colours as both the pengantin are soo 'cerah' :D

4) make sure not to make syg wear pink for sanding/reception, dont want him to hate me for a lifetime, hehe

5) ouh, fell in love with angkasawan's engagement colour outfit ;)

so blush pink + light grey it was ;)

TABLE CENTERPIECE

after confirming that the catering package that we took did not include centerpieces for the table, I decided to customize the centerpieces by putting pictures of us on every table.

Memang cadangan asal is to put empty jars on each table, then sumbat gambar kat dalam tu, advantages is jars tu mesti see-thru, so tak de la risk of terbang or kena percikan lauk, hehe

tengok-tengok, Martha Stewart pun ada penah wat jugak :)

BAJU FLOWER GIRL

i had earlier cancelled to have any flower girls due to some problems encountered during the process, eventho i had already bought the dresses, masa tu dah tak peduli, nak cancel jugak atas dasar malas nak layan kerenah org yang menyakitkan hati..huhu

thus sebab syg dgn baju cotton berbunga2 yang aku pilih sebab sweet & sesuai tuk budak2 pkai dgn selesa, aku bagi baju tu kat dua org anak sedara aku (my kazen's daughters) supaya dorg boleh pkai dgn penuh kecomelan & keriangan. haha.

GUESTBOOK TABLE

there are so many choices to opt for when doing ur guestbook table, me as similar to other b2b's, pening kepala nak choose which one:-

1) Custom make my own guestbook- rasanye ni paling senang, ada satu buku je where all guests can sign sukehati, after wedding just tinggal nak selak je n bace

2) Wishing Tree

3) Polaroid guestbook- yang ni kena invest in a polaroid plak kan, but i so love the idea

4) Wedding guest cards- in the end i opted for this with the help from my bestie pojan becoz she said it would be easier if the guests could rite down their wishes at the same time or even take their cards and rite it at their tables and drop them in the jar on the way out.

i really wanted to have badges for my reception since before i got engaged lagi, just wanted to have the feeling of having custom made badges makes me smile (even now) hehe.

first step, survey survey survey..good thing i did too, the prices i had stumbled on were quite surprising, one shop even charges RM25 per badge. u must be freaking kidding right?

masa survey tu, siap2 dah bawak thumbdrive with the softcopy of our logo so boleh tunjuk the designer terus how i wanted the badges to be. found a reasonable priced shop, (actually bukan stakat reasonable, aku rasa murah gilee) and ordered them on the spot (okla, i did tell the designer to show me the design and colour and after being a bit bossy bru paid deposit, hee, betta betulkan design seblum dia cetak rite)

i think i bought about 40 badges kot.

oh, pastu aku order jugak badge bride & groom eventho of coz ktorg x kan pkai masa wedding kan, saje nak ada badge juak, nnt aku dengki tngok org lain sume pakai, heeee

the other badges were for the other family members and helpers ;)

Outdoor Weekends (ending 2010)

Qasih Harmoni (Family Day): 3rd-5th December 2010

Had quite a full-weekend December, and im loving the fact that i have activities to fill my usually sleep & snooze away weekends. hehehe. Well, first week of December, I was off on the plane again to KK. This time for my father-in-laws family day/gathering. time to mingle with the bigger family :)

reached KK on the last flite out (around 12.30am next day), still sleepy from work but happy to see my hubby's hidung mancung & he dragged me to eat at McD. haaaaaaaaaah, tq for always ensuring i shall get fatter :p

next day we were packed and ready for the first leg of our family day, bowling at 1Borneo. Aween+Faizal=first time not so good bowlers :D hahahah, agak menyedihkan that most of our aims ended up in the longkang, thus pasangan suami isteri ini made a vow to make bowling one of our activities after this , hehe..owh, lupa, we were divided into four different groups, syg being head of the blue team, me assistant for team red :D bersaing again!

after sweating it out at the bowling alley, ktorg ramai2 gerak ke Mimpian Jadi Golf Resort at Tuaran (around 28km north from KK), so sampai sana pun dah senja dah

After dinner, our next group binding activity was win lose or draw, mesej berantai (klakar gile game nih) bahasa syarat & kerusi beracun (for the kids), we had a freaking fun nite !

XPDC Endau Rompin: 11th-12th December 2010

Our office Recreation & Sports Club orgaized a 4-wheel adventure into Endau-Rompin , Taman Negara. Maj my darl girlfriend put in my name and i love her so much for that (tempat sgtla terhad nak join weh)

for a mere payment of RM90 (inclusive activities, transport, food and accomodation for 2 days 1 nite) we had a great weekend, oh, harga normal RM300/person but of coz our office subsidized ;)

had an early breakfast at Pelita before gathering at the office to pack orselves into 2 vans as prepared by taman Negara. After around 3++ hours we arrived at the office of Taman Negara where we stopped for a toilet break and loading ourselves into the 4 x 4 wheel drives :)

then we had our lunch (which was cooked by a catering company that only came into the camp base when there were adventurers like us, hehe) and after unpacking our stuff to our 'pondoks' we were off on the first trekking trip to Takah Pandan

It was an-hour long hike to the waterfalls, and let me tell u, the path was steep gilaaaa, all it was, was up up up! agak kekejangan kaki jugak and out of breath (lama x trekking) but once we arrived..god..priceless ok, i would do it 10 times over again! (ok minus the nasty pacat that were swirming on to our bodies by the hundreds)

it was ultimately breathtaking

at first i didn't wanna dive in becoz i dind't bring any extra clothes to hike back to camp (takut my wet clothes would attract unwanted leeches hanging on) but after the girls persuaded me on what i would be missing out i just forgo all my worried and dived in with all my trekking pants ,hehe..the water was cold and fresh and it was damn relaxing..

after hiking back, having our showers at the camp (memang ada proper showers and all) we gathered for dinner after maghrib and while waiting for dinner to be prepared we played with intelligent games made by the asli community there. sumpah susah ok, mind boggling la jugak

and also sempat tolong the aslis' anyam their fishing equipments, i really wove a few lines ok! hehe

after dinner it was time for our nite walk, we bought our torchlights but most of the time the jungle guides requested us to put them out, walking thru the thick rainforest at nite with all the weird animal sounds can freak u out a bit, but memang appreciate nature sesangatla

us taking a picture at the foot of an enourmous tree, we also got to see a lot of glow in the dark mushrooms and we brought some back to camp. going back to camp we headed bak to our huts and i slept like a baby in my snug sleeping bag till morning where we overslept and were almost left by the group!!

heee, trus me and kak lin lari pkai kasut and hangkut bag pegi hiking ikut dorg, we skipped brekfast but then the jungle guides came after us and handed us our packed mihun, baik gilaaaa

next trip was a longer one, 2hours one way on foot, to Takah Tinggi. it was tiring (mostly in our minds all the way was 'are we there yet? are we there yet?) but it was mostly trekking on flat track along the river, not as steep as the first one.

after eating our breakfast, we slipped in for a swim and dive :)

after berhuhaaa, we trekked the 2 hours back to camp, perut dah lapar tahap gadan, sampai2 terus amek nasi and lauk, didnt even bother to take off our trekking shoes yet, membiarkan pacat yang tegar tu bloodsuck for some extra time

by the time all that was over we had to pack our bags for the ride back to kl

this is before i slept in the 4 wheel, penat gila, tp i had a hell of a neck pain after, pls dont try sleeping in a 4x4 when its drving on really bumpy tracks, hee

Cameron Highlands & Hubby's Birthday: 26th-27th December 2010

Out of pure luck and coincidence, syg's office had organized a course for some staff to be carried out in Cameron Highlands, jauh tak jauh dari kota kinabalu rite...and to make things so much more best gilaaa, the course fell exactly on hubby's birthday!! weeeee..rezeki btul rasenye, dapat flite tiket free pegi balik & spend hubby's first bday as husband & wife together, priceless ok!

thus syg signed up, and requested his office to get him an earlier tiket so he could lepak with me a little longer ;) on sunday we were up up and away to Tanah Rata.

after checking in it was adventure to the tea farms!!

sayang said 'we wear pink for strawberry!!'

then it was off to the bee, straberry farms in brinchang and tanah rata

our favourite ice-cream ever! RM5 je satu cup, fresh sweet strawberries in there ok!

ni gambar dah nak balik dah ni, syg bru habis his course so we continued our sight seeing till 6pm, this day was his bday, i originally wanted to get him some ray bans, but after the idea of him sitting on them, i decided to put that idea on hold and thus i gave him a real cool back-pack with lots of pockets (that he loves) and also a compartment for his lappy top :) oh plus the la senza suprise, hahah

AWEEN & 2011 RESOLUTIONS

here we are again, stepping into the new year & yet again as i do every year, will review if i had acheived my 2010 resolutions & jot down my targets for 2011..ok lets see what i had resoluted for last year:-

1. NAK KURUS! : ermm, tak bejaya sgt..maintain je berat, paling ringan this year stakat 51kg, hope its becoz i built up muscle or something. haha
2. KERJA BAGUS2 & HAPPILY..BUT...LOSE THE WORKAHOLIC A.K.A STRESS : wow, i actually made thus resolution? hehe, i think i acheived it, menahan diri menjadi terlalu workaholic, itupun ada specific reasons dia, stay tuned for 2011. heheh
3. GO TO AEROBICS CLASS ON A REGULAR BASIS : ok pegi gakla aerobics class tu, byk termiss sebab class dgn afterwork lepakking ke pe..haih, nampaknye ini masih perlu dibawa ke 2011 nih ;p
4. SAVING LEBIH SIKIT & GO HIKING/CLIMBING : kinabalu tahun ni tak jadi, but did go jungle trekking at taman negara endau :) best gileee, nex year syg kata maybe go up kinabalu wif him & frens..ok tetibe cam rasa tak larat..heh
5. NAK KAHWIN DGN MOHD FAIZAL B. ABD RASHID : pencapaian terbaik ktorg tuk 2010, we totally financed our own wedding, plan sendiri & enjoyed lovely wedding bliss. oh thank u Allah for blessing us !!!
6. BE A BETTER MUSLIM : i hope ive become better, only God can judge, ini pun kna carry forward :)
7. START TO FIND PLACES FOR ME TO TAKE MY MASTERS :) think i found somewhere already. still doing last research. insyaAllah 2011, time to put my thinking brain in action
8. KUMPUL DUIT FOR MY PARENTS TO GO UMRAH/HAJI : insyaAllah in progress
9. BE A BETTER FRIEND, DAUGHTER, LOVER, PERSON : still trying

10. apply for a masters degree

11. pursue a part-time job doing something i really enjoy :)

12. eat all my vitamins & supplements regularly (or hubby is gonna cekik me)

13. go to more beaches

14. make time to go to the spa more often

15. be more environmental friendly (use up the stock of 'green bags' i already have)
